Hastings formally kicked off his safety and compliance career in 2011 after a 20-year tenure in Government projects both domestically and internationally. His safety experience covers the resources, manufacturing and construction sectors across the ACT, NSW and Central Queensland. Hastings has worked on mine sites, high rise residential and commercial construction, offshore energy platforms and high security facilities in the Middle East. Hastings has a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Safety Systems), an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Diplomas in WHS, Government Security and Personnel, eight high risk work licenses covering a range of lift and shift competencies including cranes, intermediate rigger and scaffolder as well as competencies on a range of heavy mobile plant. He also holds qualifications in traffic management design and control, dangerous goods, chemical distribution and electrical safety. Hastings is a qualified PADI Divemaster (specialising in underwater recovery), Chief Remote drone pilot, pyrotechnician and apiarist.

I am passionate about raising the safety culture of organisations through listening and understanding the workforce’s key safety concerns. Using world class, peer reviewed methodologies, I aim to reduce the level of incidents, one occurrence at a time.
