A very interesting documentary video (link below) detailing the implementation of fisheries improvement works on agricultural land which increase fisheries productivity within ponded pastures. Discusses the use of fish ladders, refuge pools and grazing best management practices.
Catchment Solutions has developed an innovative nursery slot design for their rock ramp fishways or fish ladders. The first of these has been constructed at the Macs Wetlands site just south of Mackay and will be monitored in the coming spawning season to measure its effectiveness.
